Welcome to CTV's official website, cchsctv.com: your online portal to everything CTV. Class information and full episodes of our weekly show are all available right here. CTV, or Cowboy Television, is an in-house T.V. station run entirely by students under the direction of CTV President, Francesca Capua, and the help of our advisor, Mr. Alfredo Pichardo. Broadcasting on Channel 5 to 2,500+ students at CCHS and on Comcast Channel 78 to 200,000 Broward County residents, we strive to keep residents of Cooper City, Florida and the surrounding cities alike informed and entertained throughout the school year.
Although we televise Cooper City High's video Bulletin Board, videos from Broward County Schools, and other special presentations, we are best known for our signature show, CTV News. New episodes of CTV air every Friday on channel 5 at 2:10 PM. Our 20 minute show is packed with interesting news and sports journalism, as well as entertaining sketch comedy. Venturing into a new medium, this past year we became the first South Florida High School to live-webcast a school event highlighting football games, basketball games, and graduation. In February of 2008, we began broadcasting a new show, CTV Community, on Comcast Channel 78. This monthly 30-minute show highlights not only the events and happenings within Cooper City High School, but also those throughout Cooper City. CTV Community is viewable twice a month airing before Cooper City Commission Meetings. To learn more about CTV Community, click here.
The 2009-2010 school year brings many new faces to CTV. The staff of 25 Advanced Television Production students is a diverse crew of journalists, filmmakers, and actors working together to create what has been named as, "The Best School News Show in the United States" as well as "The Best News show in Broward County." To learn more about CTV, just check out one of our episodes! Click here to view our video page and remember to remind your 4th Period teacher to turn on the TV every Friday at 2:10! If you have any questions or comments, we'd love to hear from you! Click here to send us an e-mail as we are always working to make CTV better.

CTV Wins National Competition CTV, attended the Student Television Networks national convention, held this year in Orlando, Florida. After 3 days of competition, CTV placed in many areas, including 1st place in Sweet 16, a collaborative effort of the students. Additionally, the students were victorious in their individual competitions, with 3 additional wins.
Sweet 16 is the most anticipated high school news broadcast competition in which students have 16 hours to create a show that corresponds with a given topic. From a handful of options, the CTV crew chose the theme Energy. At seven in the morning on Wednesday they started from scratch and spent the entire day in Orlando producing stories that ranged from an indoor skydiving arena and a womens lacrosse team at Disneys Wide World of Sports. At the awards ceremony on Saturday, the students were commended for their ability to remain on topic in every story throughout the show.
All through the convention, the crew split into teams of 2-4 to compete in on-the-spot competitions including Spot Feature, Broadcast Newswriting, Documentary Short, Tell the Story Editing, Live Stand-Up, Music Video, and more. They were victorious in the many of these competitions.
CTV also participated in the STN Sports and News Challenges in January in which two teams of four created feature stories for both sports and news topics, the prior being Every Athlete Gives Back and the later being Its Local, Its Global. The sports challenge placed 2nd and the news challenge placed 3rd. Congratulations to all that competed.

It was an executive decision to hold the show and air it the day before Thanksgiving this year in order for the show to leave a stronger impact. Sorry if we let you down! Stay tuned though... because the next episode of CTV is coming to a small-screen near you in just three days!

So the first week of the '08-'09 school year is through, and so is the year's first episode of CTV. We hope you enjoyed the show, and plan on staying tuned in every Friday at 2:10! However next Friday, you will be able to enjoy a different kind of CTV show, only at a later airtime and in an unusual location- either in Beef O Bradys, or on your computer at 7:00 p.m. The reason? The first Cowboy football game of the year is in Orlando, at Harmony High School, so we wanted to make sure everyone was still able to watch the game. Hope you had a great week back!!!
